A2 stock on a carbine system

I'm currently running a vltor stock on a 9mm AR. I would like to know is there a A2 stock that will fit the current buffer tube I have on there right now?

Or would it be best if I just buy a whole new rear end?

    Thank You

    You'll need a new REAR END !!!

Rifle length buffer tube for A2 stock.

Ahh crap, would I run into trouble with the rifle length buffer tube, since it is a 9mm upper?

      Just found this:
Bushmaster Stubby Stock w/ Carbine Buffer and Spring
This version of the standard A2 buttstock (3.25" shorter) makes the AR type rifle easy to carry in confined quarters - not much longer than a compressed telestock, but just long enough to be legal length with 16" barrelled guns and sized well for women and younger shooters. Comes complete with carbine length Buffer and Spring. A standard rear sling loop is mounted, and the solid buttplate (no trapdoor storage compartment) is smooth and comfortable on the shoulder. Length 7.25 inches / Weight 14.6 oz.

Options: Stubby Stock or Complete Lower

9mm buffers are typically heavier than a standard carbine buffer, but is relatively close to a full length buffer in weight. An A2 buffer or rifle buffer is 5.2oz, where 9mm buffers can range anywhere from 5.6oz up to 9.5oz. I would suggest against putting a carbine length buffer of any weight in an rifle tube, as the carrier will probably get jammed in the tube. There might be a solution, which can give you the look and most of the feel of a A2 stock, but the buffer length of a carbine, called an "entry" buttstock. It has the look of an A2, but smaller (shorter mainly). It does not collapse however.

^ What he said. The Entry stock would be the way to go if you don't want your collapsible.

If you go with the stubby A2 stock you'll need a round carbine length receiver extension tube as opposed to the collasible stock tube that has the fin running along the bottom. If you want to go that route, pm me, I have a complete RRA entry stock with tube extension, buffer and spring I'll let you have if you want pay for shipping. The length is too short for my taste, plus I have a 20" upper so it doesn't look that balanced on my set-up.

All buffers will fit into any buffer tube, circumference-wise.

              H2 weighs 4.6oz, H3 (9mm) weighs 5.6oz, std rifle weighs 5.1oz.

Hey Wiki, can I have 2nd dibs?
I too am planning to switch to a non collapsible stock. But I have something else in mind. Since the RRA stock is too short for a fix stock, I got an A1 stock which I chopped down to 9" and figured maybe a couple of spacers would work to secure the stock in place, if it does'nt then I can use the RRA stock.
