Is this a fair price for a AR lower?

My local gunshop has CMMG lowers for $175:

    http://www.gunrunnerstactical.com/catalog_rifles.html (scroll down)

Is a CMMG lower considered a quality product, and is that a fair price? I like to support local shops, but I also want to start with a quality product and know that I'm not getting bent over.

Or should I go with a different lower? I don't want something that is junk.

thats about average from what ive seen. If its a billet.

Spikes lowers and mega lowers are on sale right now for $99 check those out. (standard lowers not billet)

Billet is just high grade aluminum or something or other just more $$ no better preference from what I'm told.
For Sale: AR500 Lvl III+ ASC Armor

That's a lot of money for a lower! That's about what you would pay after tax and dros. You can usually find them from 100-140 for a good one

Ouch! $129 is the max I would shell out for a lower, from a lgs... but im not really into high end/special/billet lowers, I just use them to hold all the other parts in place. Jd/kaiser works for me...

That's way too much for a forged lower. I just bought a JD for $99 and that is about the usual rate for Spike's, Mega, JD, Aero Precision, and the like. All are fine lowers.

I have a CMMG and like it a lot but that does seem a bit high. See link below. Riflegear has Spikes lowers at $99 now. You may want to shop around a bit more.

Don't discount cheaper lowers either, I got a DS Arms one (a blem one at that) and it's super snug with no wobble.

Is it a completed lower? I can't follow the link right now. If its stripped then its kind of high. Cmmg is a good maker but that's a high price. If its a completed lower then its a decent price

considering rifle gear, a little drive from gunrunners, has noveske stripped lowers for $175 right now, which are usually the most expensive forged lowers you can get because of their name. i would say its a rip off

JD Machine makes Noveske. The only difference between JD Machine and Noveske lowers is the roll marks.
