    DPMS 308 Rifle help

I'm building a DPMS 308 rifle and want a MAGPul PRS style buttstock for it. I don't see a 308 version on MagPul's website.

I do see that the DPMS 308 rifle uses the commercial sized AR-15 buffer tube, are the MagPul stocks built on the commercial tube size?

Frank, I have a DPMS upper on a POF lower (308) and have the AR15 prs buttstock it works but you need to add a 1" extension that you can get from dpms for $20 or so and yes it fits the milspec buffer tube for the AR15. I believe Jpach also runs an AR15 prs on his 308 AR

There is a special PRS for the .308

Magpul does make a special PRS stock for the .308 AR style rifles. I use one on my LR .308 and my AR-15 (fits both). THe AR-15 PRS will fit on the .308 buffer tube but you may have clearance problems (with the charging handle). On the .308 version of the PRS they have shortened the cheek piece (I think that's the part) so that it doesn't interfere with the charging handle.

So to summarize: .308 PRS will fit any AR with a full length buffer tube. AR-15 PRS will fit any AR with a full length buffer tube but you may have interference with the charging handle on your .308.

Here is the link to the MAGPUL page for the PRS http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/84
the .308 stock is the bottom listing.

Magpul PRS uses the same buffer tube as a standard A1/A2 stock. Just make sure you use a 308 rifle buffer and spring. The PRS parts number is Mag308 for the 308 and Mag307 for the 223.
