Strikeplate

Got this from Stickman from another forum, apparently Magpul is about to release their UBR Strikeplate. Jager's strikeplate was released a long time ago, which do you guy's prefer?

I like Jagers the best because its quite a bit more meaty.

I have Jagers on all of mine, but as you can tell in my pic above, I'm quite a magpul fan. I'll probably get the magpul ones and try for myself.

looks like the magpul one has serrations that will break skin faster than jagers , but jagers looks like capable of more blunt trauma .

Clearly it needs to be dipped in some sort of poison for more tactical efficacy. Perhaps they should consider making it some sort of cattle prod/stun gun activated by a pressure switch.

I could see that happening if you were swinging it like a club from the barrel.

I think it may stand up with normal buttstrokes, where you have your hand on the stock just behind the charging handle. I know we never had any bent tubes on the A2 stocks when we practiced strikes.

Also, if they're close enough to where you have to start bopping over the head; I think that you're in it so deep that weapon functionality after the fact is the least of your worries.

A buddy in my unit during our initial push in 2003 had an up-close encounter with a baath loyalist that required several butt strokes with his rifle. No bent tube or damaged threads. Plus, we used our rifles to strike door knobs and windows all the time, no damage.

Depends on what the Magpul part is made of. If it is steel I would be inclined to get one but if it's aluminum forget it.
