Whether you buy a POSP scope or a weaver mount (to mount any kind of scope) for the PSL, be sure to ask for the SVD mount, and not the AK mount. The PSL uses the same type of scope mount as the real Dragunovs, and not the AK mounts you find on the Vepr, Romanian AK's, or Saigas.

These Folks (At Interordance) are so incompetent, they probabaly don;t know what a scope mount is and will probably yell at you for it.

Yes, because the SSG-97 does not have the cut out for the pistol grip. If you cut one to accept the MMG, than you also have to make it 922r compliant. The SSG-2000 is ready to go as is. Just install the MMG grip.

I've read that shooting heavy ball ammo is hard on the receiver. Would 180 grain Winchester Ammo fall into this category? I need it for hunting.

I've heard the same thing. It's recommended not to go over 158 grains when using ammo in the PSL. For ranges that don't allow steel core ammo, Wolf's 148 grain lead core is just perfect.
