I'll have to check all of the AK boards to see if anyone is getting them shipped. That's the source to look at if you want to know if they have them finally. Everyone is waiting for them!

I'm staring at a copy of shotgun news and have yet to find that ad. I did find a BM59 parts kit that says it can be used with a garand reciever though (with "slight modification" - ie fairy dust), that might be interesting.

I don't know if it'll work for the SVD mags, but here's how I did my AK mag.

I drilled and tapped the portion just above the mag catch and installed a set 5/16" set screw. If I recall, it even complies with the non-binding DOJ memo which requires disassembly of the action to remove the magazine as you have to remove the hammer to get to the set screw.

Its the Volume 61, Issue 15, June 4, 2007 Copy. Its on the front cover. There is a big ad for Interordnance it says "Serious Firepower" The SSG-2000 is also on the same page, at $698

SSG (in 7.62X54R) wil not work with fixed mag. You need to push rounds from the front of magazine, not through the top like AK. The only way is to fill the thumb hole in the stock and to replace flash suppressor with a break to keep mag detacheable.

Vepr, the stock muzzle device is NOT a flash supressor.

Also, if you can really find a PSL for sale, congrats, since the supply seems to have dried up.

Also, it looks like the SSG-2000 is actually slightly different in more than cosmetic ways from a PSL (or maybe it is just me)

Not trying to open a can of worms here, but if you had a set screw through the reciever and through the mag, you would have to use a tool (allen wrench/screwdriver) to back it out, dropping the mag. That renders it legal, correct?

Good question. Sounds like bullet button type thing to me. Which leaves thinking....would it be legal to use an original Prince 50 and detach the mag using the allen wrench (little more work than a bullet button).

Flux, you said you already ordered your SSG-2000? Did they have it in stock, on back-order? When do you expect to see it? When you get it, what method are you going to use to make it legal? Remove grip?
