Barrel profiling

Looking for someone to re-profile my barrel from the gas block forward and index a comp. Someone local, in the Bay area would be nice.

Up-date......

Decided to go with kendog4570 to have him re-profile my DPMS bull barrel and index my new JP comp.

Took the barrel and comp to his place and dropped it off on Monday. We discussed several options on how to finish the project. Ken was a big help and made several great recommendations.

Received the barrel back on Thursday. Profiling job was very well done and he refinished the barrel. The finish was very well done.

Needless to say all my future work will be going to Ken. Quality work with attention to detail and reasonably priced.

Sorry for the dumb question. What does barrel re-profiling mean? Is it the same as having the barrel recontoured? like say having a government profile, barrel resized to have the same diameter as under the handguard, much light a lightweight barrel?
