    Mag quality question?

I just visited 44mag.com for 5.56 mags. There are aluminum, stainless, teflon, dryfilm, and ofcoarse plastic pmags. Which bodies are best and why? And why so many different colored followers? Does it matter?

I personally think it comes down the the follower and spring. But then again I have some 30 rnd mags with the original black followers and have had no problems.

The follower colors don't matter, just what you like. There are "anti-tilt" followers that stay level and are supposed to keep the round level and feed better. This is an upgrade overall if you can get them, but I've shot planty that didn't have these and they function fine. I would go with the Cproducts, for $8.50 plus free shipping from 44mag.com you can't beat them.
Fallujah had become a magnet for foreign jihadists and there were several thousand in the city who had come to make martyrs of themselves, to die while killing as many Americans as possibleAt each house I said a prayer, 'Please God get me out of this one.' When I come out of the house, I thank Him, light up a cigarette and move on to the next onesigpic

aluminum is light weight, but can get dented/crushed/deformed.

steel is heavier duty and is more resistant to getting dented/crushed/deformed. but they are heavier.

dry film and teflon keep the operation moving smoothly.

          pmags are awesome.

Go with the PMAGs. They're tougher and self-lubricating since they're made with a teflon additive.

I'm impressed by the Lancer L5. PRI makes really nice steel magazines.

Shotgun News had a comparison article that you should read.

If you're just shooting recreationally at the range it doesn't matter much.

If you're taking classes and/or your rifle is part of your home defense plan, then use PMAGs, or USGI mags with anti-tilt followers. Also - and this part is the most important - function-test all of your mags with the rifle and ammo you'll be using. That means load and fire each of them at least twice to ensure that ammo feeds reliably and they fit your lower.

Keep in mind that all mags will eventually wear out if used enough. When they stop functioning reliably, replace them.

The different color followers are just there to amuse people. The colors don't do anything the regular black or green ones won't. Assuming they are all anti-tilt, that is. Some people like to have the bright colors so that they can tell when a magazine is empty at a glance. I usually take the lack of bullets as a good clue, but that is just me... Another reason to use colored followers is to tell which magazines are yours. If everybody else has green or black followers, your orange or yellow ones will be pretty easy to spot.
