And before reading this thread I thought from the title it was about AR's and lefties, ie liberals.

If you just have to have a lefty upper, might i suggest a Noveske:

        GlockBlocker,

Being a lefty myself I never had any issues shooting any AR at all. All issues are solved as long as the shell deflector is milled in to the receiver. Personally I would not consider getting any left handed version. It just isn't required.

It's only a problem if you have a smoothside and a short stock. I wouldn't even know how to run a LH AR.

I have a stag LH upper and I plan to get a second one with the 24" bull barrel. It works well for me. I use a ambi selector, just put a dot of blue locktite on the screw. I never had an issue with the charging handle. My middle finger on my left hand works that just as well as the index finger on my right.

just dont do as i did, i bought a mega billet up with no deflector. you will get hot casings thrown at your neck. so instead of going shooting, it looked like someone gave me a hickey..

The Stag lefy is a good option, and you can put what ever kool-aid you want on your upper & barrel.

I have thousands of rounds thru each of my Stags with ZERO failures of any type. My friend with his fancy big name custom upper has all kinds of grief. First time he took it out, it wouldn't cycle a round and we had to switch out parts from my stock Stag to get it to fire. I built two Stag rifles for less than he paid for his. I shoot my rifles as well as I shoot his.

I'm right handed in most things, but some things I prefer to do lefthanded and shooting is one of them. Though I still shoot right handed periodically, I prefer the left due to faster target acquisition with my left eye. Righty, lefty, doesn't matter what kind of rifle you choose, the shells shoot so far to the side that it doesn't really matter. I haven't noticed a difference in brass deflectors either because I've got a slickside righthanded 308 AR and never had a shell casing come anywhere near me. The only benefit I've ever seen is the gases escaping the chamber are directed away from you when using the rifle configured for your shooting side, but that's not issue isn't really big enough to warrant buying a designated southpaw rifle.

On the ambi-selector, I've never had a problem, so I don't know what the guy who posted above is talking about. Magpul BAD lever will NOT work on a lefthanded upper though, so if you're interested in one of those, you can scratch that idea because the lever will block the dustcover from opening.

What's the point? The upper and lower on that Noveske were both made by Stag, they're just priced higher because the lower bears the Noveske name on it. Might as well get a Stag and toss a Noveske barrel in it.

                        Or if you go featureless.
