    AR-15 handguard question

I am looking into purchasing this from BravoCompanyUSA:

But I want the continuous upper rail offered by this troy mrf handguard:

Does this require a gunsmith to do?

Do you know how to remove a FSB and MD? Do you have the tools?

Yes and No, to your OP. Depends on what you answer.

Why don't you go with the Daniels Defense Omega 7 rail?

The Troy rail is a 2 piece rail, was hoping I would not have to remove the FSB. (and I dont know what a MD is!!)

CoZ I already own the Troy rail....

I can't tell from your photo which model Troy you have.
If it's the TRX model, the Barrel-Nut and FSB have to come off and the FSB replaced after installation.
If it's the MRF-C, only the Delta Ring needs to come off.
If it's the MRF-DI, nothing needs to come off.

Call Troy for some instructions. 866-788-6412

That's the answer! Do I need a special tool to remove it?

LOL...I get it now.... IGNORE ME... I see how it assembles.

No the rail you posted a pic of is a FF rail...not a two piece rail.
It requires the removal of the barrel, front sight base, gas tube, muzzle device and delta ring, weld spring and slip ring.

You then re-attach the barrel without the delta, weld spring and slip ring.
you then slip the FF battlerail over the barrel, locking it onto the barrel nut.
you then slide the FSB with gas tube attached over the barrel & into the upper
you then tighten to FF battlerails clamp around the barrel nut
you then secure the FSB to the barrel.
you then screw on the muzzle device and torque it down properly indexing it.

I didnt research this, but I bet I am close enough to get it done. If any of this worries you...dont do it.

Get a Dremel and Read: http://troyind.com/manuals/MRFManual.pdf

I think OP knows it's a FF..You don't have to do all that for all of the Troy FF rails. Problem resolved.
