No issue with my DPMS and CMMG comb...new magazine may help. My AR10 is up to $5,000 with a Gen 3 night vision scope plus nikon 6x24 behine it when outside of CA. Lot of fun shooting at night down range at 300 yrds. Don't add night vision inside of CA...one way ticket to jail.

Is it beating the hell out of the bullet tips? Try hand cycling a few - ease the charging handle forwards very slowly and watch how it grabs and feeds rounds into the chamber. Mine had crappy feedramps that weren't cut right so the tips were catching on them.

The feed ramps have been polished. When hand cycling the bold just barely catches the rim of the round.Again it shoots like a dream when I hold the mag
and push up.I wonder if the BB could be the culprit.Or the lower out of spec.
Or lower doesn't match up to upper?I don't know whats going on,it's frustrating
I would recommend the enidine buffer and fsc 30 comp.Greatly reduces muzzle rise and follow up shots and with 4lb jard trigger double taps @ 200yrds is cake.

If you post up some pics of the cartridges that it isn't feeding I could make a better guess. It sounds to me like the magazine is sitting too low in the magwell. You did oil the **** out of it, right? Lots of clp?

Is there a way to loosen the bullet button a little to see if the magazine will seat further into the receiver? Keep it legal of course.

Well, there are lots of things I'm thinking it could be but if you're sure holding the mag up and it feeds properly I'm willing to bet the lower is out of spec somehow. Do you know anyone else in your area who has a dpms pattern 308? Swapping your upper onto their lower and testing it out would help rule out the upper.

One thing you can try to do is bending the feed lips on your dpms magazines - bend up the forward part of the feed lip just a bit so that the cartridges sit a little higher in the mag, it might help.

Sorry to hear you're having problems I know how frustrating it is to buy all the "right" parts for lots of $$$$$ and have it not work.

It is not illegal to install night vision on a firearm in CA. It is illegal to possess a sniperscope in CA. sniperscope has a specific meaning that may not include the specific night vision scope you are talking about. If your NV scope does not have an IR illuminator, then it is not a sniperscope. IIRC, some dealers will remove the illuminator for you and then ship it to CA. Also, if the NV scope has no magnification, then it might not be an "electronic telescope", and therefore, not a sniperscope. Placing a standard telescope behind a 1x NV scope should not make the NV scope a sniperscope.

Plus, there is an "educational purposes" exemption to the law as well that might apply as well, ifusing that "sniperscope" on the firearm to learn how it is to shoot at night.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

                            Jim,

Same problem here. I've got PMAG LR20s in 20, and 10/20, 20 round DPMS, and 10 round DPMS. It happens with all of them. I only have ~50 rounds shot in which probably 20+ are dented. Most will Failure to Feed or Bolt Over Base, which from what I've read may be caused by magazines or not getting enough gas into the system. The latter might be my problem only because the problem happens with all 8 of my mags. Always have dented rounds, every other shot fired. Never got through a complete 10 round mag without a malfunction. Also heard that the rifle may not be properly lubed. I don't know about that, but I believe my weapons are properly lubed. I'd like to find a good gunsmith to check it out, but I'm pretty frustrated and may end up just selling the parts off, or as a complete rifle.
