so i finally got to blasting some paper (and a lil steel too
) with my new AR. i got the scope zeroed with some 55gn PMC bronze, and then i switched to Remanufactured Black hills 69 gn MK HP, 75gn Match HP, and 77gn Match HP.

i was shooting 3 rd groups @ 100 yds and the best group i could muster was just under 1" with the 69's. i think all three of the Black Hills loads were more than capable of shooting sub moa groups from my rifle. i got a lot of two shots that were damn near on top of each other, but for some reason i always seemed to choke on one shot. The POI was off when i switched to the match grade ammo and i didnt bother to re-zero as i had limited ammo and was more interested in grouping.
just for fun i unloaded a bunch of the 55gn on the 100 yd steel target as fast as i could without getting yelled at and i couldn't miss.
it was my first time at angeles, and i had a great time. met with a fellow calgunner who showed me around the place. great facility, albeit a little crowded on a sunday.
at the end of the day i put about 90 rounds of the match grade down the tube and 80 rounds of 55gn cheap stuff. all in all I'm very pleased with how the rifle shot. this is my first precision rifle of any sort and i think i have MUCH room for improvement. i cant wait to start making some hand loads and start really learning how to shoot.
I'm also quite confident that no coyote (or zombie) is safe from this thing
