FDE & ODG Hammerhead customers, please write up some honest Amazon reviews. We use reviews among other factors to gage whether a product should continue to be produced or not. We have only a few reviews there on each product so need some more data points.

Sales of EXM-HH02 "Hammerhead" have been halted for the time being. We have been served with a cease and desist letter from attorneys representing Advanced Technology International (ATI). Their patent US6374528 appears to claim invention of any adapter that connects any stock to any receiver.

We are looking at options to resolve this situation but in abundance of caution have halted production and sales of the EXM-HH02 "Hammerhead" until this matter is concluded. We have also halted all sales of ATI products on our store.

Was thinking about buying an ATI stock for a bolt action rifle...not any more. Exile, I hope you beat this.

Well on the bright side, the ATI patent expires in a few years. Meanwhile we are currently permanently modifying our existing stock of HH02 Hammerhead product to make them no longer an adapter and thus outside the scope of ATIs patent.

Now Available! Hammerhead-GO!™ CA Legal Grip-Only version of the Hammerhead. MSRP $24.97.

Same great (or horrible, depending on your POV) ergos (the legality won't change for CA, the external dimensions are exactly the same) but with absolutely no way to attach a buttstock! We're reworking our mold tooling inserts for future production runs to eliminate the buttstock attachment points. We believe there is no merit to this patent but patent litigation would distract us from our mission of supporting the California shooter, and so we will work to come to some sort of licensing agreement with ATI.

Sigh... time to dig for more obvious prior art. ATI are treading on thin ice. Perhaps you should reach out to get Magpul on board to end this farce. Or is perhaps Magpul, a respected USA company with large coffers, too much of a risk for them to troll?

The present invention is a replacement gunstock assembly for rifles. The assembly comprises a stock body with a uniform mounting structure and one of a series of adapters made to accept the mounting structure and then mount, in turn, on a given rifle platform. Also disclosed is attachment structure for holding the stock body and adapter together, specifically a pair of plates and a set of bores in the modules through which a pair of bolts pass and other interfacing surface geometry.

Here's some more evidence showing stock adapters are "plainly obvious". People have been making them in their garages for half a century or more.

That's really ****ty of ATI. The hammerhead has nothing to do with anything they sell. I understand protecting your intellectual property, but this is ridiculous. They're screwing us Californians over (more then we already are) by forcing this product off the market giving us less options.

I'm guessing threaded Hammerheads will become more collectable?

Excellent of you to release CAD files. 2 Hammerhead-Go's just ordered! Perfect "you're number one" finger to ATI.

4/18/17 UPDATE: We just executed a licensing agreement with ATI. Headbutt SGW-515 and Hammerhead HH02 adapters are back on the market both on our store and on Amazon.com. ATI products are once again for sale on our store.
