    AR 15 Pistol Grip Screw

Either my lpk is missing the screw for the pistol grip or I missed placed it some how. Could I pick up the same thing from home depot or am i better off ordering a replacement from brownells or midway?

      What is it.... a 1/4-20?
My kits came with socket head screws, but I don't have any allen keys long enough (I should get some "T" handle) to reach through the grips.
I ran them in with a screwdriver, but they aren't tight.

I ordered like 50 of these bolts so I wouldn't ever had to bother with trying to search locally if I lost a part from my LPK.

I also have a bunch of detents too...because I've been know to launch those in to orbit

You should have seen me when I installed my new rear sling attachment. I forgot the detent that is held by the buffer tube cap and consequently spent about an hour tracking the detent down inside my house .

Can't say that's never happened to me before. Before I ran down to a local nut & bolt shop to stock up on springs, roll pins, grip bolts, washers, and other small parts, I used to spend countless hours on the floor looking for tiny items.

I fixed that on every one of my lowers.
Run over to a hobby shop and grab a package of model airplane wheel collars. One pack will give you enough for 4 or 5 lowers. Take the grub screws and the allen key out, and give the shiny chrome things to your wife or a local biker

Those should be 4-40, maybe 2-3mm long. Alternatively, you can probably find 4-40 grub screws at a "real" hardware store. Lowe's, Depot, and my local Ace stores didn't have them... I didn't try Dale McFadden... it was cheaper to buy the wheel collars in Chino Hills rather than ride to Corona.

Get a 4-40 tap, tap the detent hole maybe 10 threads deep.
Now trim the spring by the length of the grub screw, pop the spring in, then lock it down with the screw until the top of the screw is flush with the lower. No worries forever!

Whatever you do...if you strip the threads, don't flip out and destory your lower.

go to sears or an auto parts store. Bring a screw. get a 1/4" drive socket to fit the screw.

Grip screw is 1/4" x 28 tpi x 1", I use my craftsman screw driver with an allen bit to tighten them
