    stag 2ht upper mod question

hey guys! haven't posted in a while been busy, but a reoccuring question has come to my mind for my ar15 build.

I have a stag 2ht upper, and want to put a folding front sight on it, i know how to change the front gas block, but dont know which part to get from where and what front sight to get to match the rear site so they're still in sync.

    Anyone have any ideas?

i'm also not against ditching the folding rear sight it came with and slapping on front and rear magpul sights, those are lined up for each other allready.

    Thanks in advance!

I would advise against replacing your Arms 40L rear sight for a Magpul sight - that would be a downgrade in my opinion. I also would advise against putting a rail mounted folding sight on your rail because you would be shortening the sight radius which will may affect accuracy.

Do you have or plan to get a red-dot sight and this is why you want the front sight out of the way? I suggest you get a folding front sight/gas block that mounts where the existing standard front sight is. I like the Arms 41B since it retains the classic look when deployed.

Here are some other folding barrel mounted sights that would work as well.

Thats awesome! and some good points.
The other thing i was looking at was putting on this front sight

but i dont know what kinda gas block i'd have to put under t to make it work.

and yeah i plan on getting a red dot or some kind of optics, and i want to make sure i can get the front sight out of the way.

Your best bet is the arms setup. It's pretty slick. I've handled one in person. Retains the look, lines up like your looking for, and is easy to install.

I do have to give a heads up on most of these gas blocks though. They are screwed on versus pinned on like traditional A frame front sight/gas block. Will a "screwed gas block suffice?" you decide if it will meet your application.

However, the best of both worlds solution is made by GG&G. The have folding front sight/gas block that is pinned to the barrel. Go to their site. It's a bit pricey, but will meet your needs if you decide you wanted a pinned front gas block.

GG&G is an established manufacturer of tactical rifle accessories. We specialize in AR-15, M16, and Remington Shotgun parts for military, police, and sporting applications.

I would listen to Shark ... I would NOT ditch the 40L for a Magpul, its a downgrade. The A.R.M.S. folding front sight is awesome .... look into it. To put on the Troy front sight you would need a rail gas block to mount the sight to, extra money and extra work in my opinion.
