    Lower parts kits

Building a AR style carbine. Looking for opinions on lower parts kits/triggers. What do you like and why?

I just ordered the rock river LPK with two stage trigger today. It looks good, but I wont know until i get it if its worth the extra $

I have used LPK's from Armalite, DPMS, RRA and the roll pins in the RRA is the easiest to get in. The other 2 looks like sheet metal (thick) while the RRA has thin roll pins which goes in easier. The trigger is about the same on all of them, creepy and heavy. I am planning to get a Timney or something and try it out. I did have an Armalite 2-stage trigger/hammer but it malfunction on me and I had to swap them out. I've been told the new MegaMachine triggers are pretty good also, but haven't tried it yet (maybe I would)

      Hope this helps ...

I agree on RRA kit. I've used RRA, DPMS and Bushmaster and I liked the RRA out of all 3. Trigger, pretty much the same as indicated by the last post, heavy, gritty so I replaced them with RRA NM trigger which is nice and crisp.

Daniel Defense LPKs are great. Armalites and RRAs have all served me well too.

+1 for the RRA LPK with 2 stage trigger

I had the stock trigger on all my rifles for years before i decided to go with a gieselle for my AR 308. I immediately went out and got the RRA 2 stage for my last build and it was awesome. It's a little bit light for my taste, but it does break very cleanly.

Stag lower parts kits are nice..Comes wth a couple extra detents just incase you launch one into orbit trying to install it.

The single stage trigger isnt that bad either.

Part by part? As in the lower parts kit? Or all the parts to finish the lower?

If you mean lower parts (springs, detents, trigger group etc) then definitely get a whole kit (RRA, Armalite, DD).

But if you mean parts to complete a stripped lower
Palmetto State Armory's kits can't be beat if you want magpul stuff and the greatest 2stage trigger on the market.

Go to www.gunbroker.com and type in 174603342 . It should pop up with a RRA lpk NM for less then $123.00.

I've built 3 JD Machine Lowers, the only thing I had trouble with was the bolt catch roll pin. The hole was kinda rough on the inside, but overall the lower is very nice. Just pay extra attention when putting the bolt catch pin.

stag, or lmt parts kits have been great in my experience. Add a Geissele SSA 2 stage trigger. You'll thank me later

You are in SD, go to Parallax TActical. Joe has different lpk and triggers. If you ask him for a deal he probably will give you one.
I have a rra 2-stage and it is nice. People might not believe this but I really like the del-ton trigger. There is no grit and it breaks real clean. THe other parts are alittle iffy though.
