IIRC, it was a UPC issue. An Amazon vendor listed a item by UPC, which was a reloading die, but Amazon's computers read it as an Aimpoint. The vendor handled it pretty well, sending out detailed explanations and apologies, even though it wasn't really their fault.

Oh wow, it would have been crazy if they actually sent them out. I'm pretty sure they thought $$$$$$$ when they saw their whole stock sell out within hours if not minutes. Then they saw the issue and probably thought

Yeah I remember it. Didn't even bother ordering one because there was no way they were going to honor those sales.

I didnt bother to order as people had already bought like 5 each so it was clear there was no way they could honor it. But, that company did get an eunexpected benefit of making a huge jump in the list of top sellers in the sporting section.
