    AR/AK pistol legal in Ca?

I was at my local range and I saw someone with an AK pistol. Are these legal in Ca because I was under the impression that they are not. Anyone know?

Yes, they are...I have 2 AR pistol and 1 AK. Single shot to pass DOJ than use 10 round mag for the range.

The FFL blocked the standard 10 round mag with a wood block and crazy glue the mag...so it cannot be made into 10 rounds again.

By the way, an AK cost half of the AR.

If you need help, call Aris at Triple A's Sporting Goods...he has many AK and AR pistols in the shop.

Ive been interested in this too, AK pistols that is. Can someone post up info on the legalities of these? If they have to be single shot to pass DOJ are you breaking the law by converting them back to semi auto?

                        1) Single shot handguns are except from the DOJ handgun roster.
                        2) Once you own the handgun, you can modify it as along as you stay within current AW pistol regulations.

You are buying a singleshot handgun that doesnt have a CA definded ammunitions feeding device.

You are then converting it to a pistol has does NOT meet any of these..........
                        (4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
                        (A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.
                        (B) A second handgrip.
                        (C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
                        (D) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.

                        (5) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds. <---- this by staying under 10rds and using a BB

You can either build your own from a flat (no paperwork, serial number or registration required) or buy one. You are lucky to be in Fresno (in this one instance). Go to PRK Arms and they can help you buy one, two or three.
