Hmm. I would like to post a lot of links about peoples reviews on the K16. Just go to BUDSGUNSHOP.COM and type in k16. You can see customer reviews at the bottom of the k16 page on their site. Everyone's happy.
A google search on the oly K16s and their ARs have yielded a lot of happy campers that state they've never had a problem with them. I don't think it's "unique" to have a working Oly rifle.
I do agree though that the lower receiver should not have any markings that indicate anything that could be misconstrued. My lower receiver does not have any of those questionable markings or trademarks, and its serial number prefix does not start with anything that is synonymous with the 3 banned Oly' rifles on the "list".
I don't think the K3 would have any issues. Besides, the K3 has a ton of mil spec parts right out of the box and I'm not sure what the barrel's made out of, but it isn't a bad gun me-thinks, especially for the price.
But if you're willing to spend $200 more, peachstate will ship you a CA legal Daniel Defense rifle, and of COURSE I think those are awesome.
But my bottom line, I think that Olys' are fine, I'm happy with mine. And I'm glad that its legal. Maybe I'm being bias, but I own one so my opinion is just another man's that should be taken with a grain of salt if need be.
