    Pinning my Stock

How would I go about pinning/fixing my stock to not go below a certain point..I have a Tapco T6 collapsible in my AR currently running a 16 inch Carbine upper.

or if there are any DIY on pinning the stock could anyone point me in the right direction

Im trying to achieve 31 inches overall length of the rifle.

I don't understand why you want to pin the stock at 31" - is it because that is where it is comfortable for you? You don't need to pin your stock at all for legality reasons - I'm sure any collapsible stock on a 16" barrelled upper will reach the legal length of >30" when fully collapsed.

People mainly pin their stocks for running featureless with a collapsible style stock. Most buffer tubes will reach 31.5" w/o a stock on there. So what are you trying to accomplish? If you adjust it back it is fine, if you put it all the way forward you are fine.

Well, I had a Tapco stock for my Saiga-12 for awhile and since collapsible stocks are not allowed on semi-auto shotguns, I just drilled a couple holes all the way through and stuck a bolt in there. Then I dumped a bunch of epoxy on it, because I felt more comfortable with it as a "permanent" mod. Unfortunately that won't work in your case, since you've got the buffer tube to worry about...

I'm not really sure what you're paranoid about - the law is the law and the law says anything over 30" is legal. Have you measured your rifle with the stock fully collapsed?

            Good luck to ya!

If you're not running a featureless rifle, there is no reason to pin the stock.

You'd really be limiting your LOP for certain shooting situations. I usually run nose to charging handle, but when i'm prone I need the stock extended a little bit.

                Agreed.

OP, if you are worried about complying with OAL laws when you are already likely clearly complying, then why do you own an AR with a bullet button (unless you ARE running a featureless build) that isnt approved by the DOJ? At least your OAL compliance is clear-cut/ as a matter of fact.

I'm building a featureless rifle, here's how I did my Stag Arms stock. (Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic).

Just found a machine screw of the appropriate length, drilled a hole a tiny bit smaller, then tapped it with the screw itself. Had a thick rubber spacer sitting in the same junk box. A touch of black spraypaint and done. The screw extends into the position hole.
