Id like to know a good bolt action, center fire rifle that shoots relatively cheap ammo such as the 5.56x45 and has good iron sights. I will get a scope later but for now I would like to train with iron sights. Im also planning on getting an ar15, so having one kind of ammo would be real nice.

Savage, Remington...etc...... You said "such as the 5.56(now .223)". Does that mean it could be in other calibers besides .223 as well?PM or Email me if you have questions: Jpach89@gmail.com
Check out my LMT .308 AR

There were several flavors to choose from, regular, hot cinnamon, or bacon. Im a man of danger so I chose Hot cinnamon to use with my bump fire buttstock.Comment

Most .223 bolt rifles are considered "VARMINT" rifles. Seldom would they have iron sights. Even if they came with sights, the style is usually "patridge", quite different from the peep/aperture sights found in military rifles.
The twist in most varmint rifles (1:12) is optimized for light bullets not the 69+ Gr we associate with AR15's. As I recall the Savage FP10 and the Remington PSS have 1:9 twist (sorry no iron sights) which is acceptable for heavier bullets
If your intention is training for an AR I would recommend a Ruger 10-22 with peep sights from tech-sights.comComment

Buy the CZ 527 Carbine in .223 is the rifle you want. Excellent manufacture, controlled round feed, iron sights, comes with scope rings -- perfect AR-15 bolt companion. (and when ammo gets even more expensive, it will shoot it slower. )Comment

I have two... a varmiter and a 527 in 7.62x39... love the 7.62 carbine ... cz told me it is designed to shoot surplus ammo... shoots wolf hollowpoint better than I can hold it... 1x scope and easy 1.5 in at 100 yards...which is about as good as I can see with the scope...won't shoot corbon dpx for crap... but loves wolf... I have a buddy who has a carbine in .223 and shoot wwb in it and it shoots clover leaf groups at 100 yds...
buy it today...
