Hows the accuracy on those *****es? They look cool as hell, and I like the charging handle. Any reviews from non-magazine/article sources?

No distrespect, but may I ask where this information comes from other than opinion or speculation and are you talking about a piston conversaion or a rifle built as a piston from the ground up? I might agree that a modified DI to piston conversaion "may" have less accuracy, my bet is that the normal shooter will not notice it if this inaccuracy does exist.

I have both DI and factory piston rifles and to be honest the key to accuracy is the person pulling the trigger and not the rifle in most cases. After doing a little searching myself on this subject, if one wants an accurace rifle then bolt action is probably the way to go. People keep speculating that pistons are less accurate, but to be honest I haven't been able to find much information to back this up. There are alot of piston rifles dating back many years that prove this wrong, what about the M-14, Garand or Springfield M1A? These can very accurate rifles along with a few others out there not mentioned.

The SASS is an awesome unit and one that will find a place on my Noveske lower at somepoint in time in the near future. Could care less if its DI or piston as to me its more of reliability and DI/Piston are both reliable if done correctly and made by a quality manufacturer. A better statement might have been: "Any semi-automatic can kill the accuracy potential".
Do you know what happened 158 years ago this fall...back in 1850 ?

-California became a state, The people had no electricity, The state had no money, Almost everyone spoke Spanish, There were gunfights in the streets.
-So, basically, nothing has changed except the women had real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

I think the theory is DI has no moving parts that's attached to the barrel and therefore in theory will be more accurate compared to a piston due to fewer variables affecting the harmonics of the barrel. That said, I'm an average shooter at best and would never notice the difference so YMMV.

So if you can only shoot 1moa (that's a shame), you would expect to see 1.2 to 1.5 moa from the gas piston gun.

I am sure the Armalite SASS is a great platform but I have had great accuracy out of my POF 308 gas piston rifle. My last three range sessions I have shot many 5 round groups the size of a quarter with either Federal GMM 168gr or HSM 168gr match.

                That's not great accuracy.
                That's mediocre.
