    Problems with FAL

Took my Enterprise FAL out shooting yesterday and has some issues with it. I loaded up the 10 round mag with 9 rounds of brown bear .308 and started shooting. Well, the first shot was fine, then the second was not. The round was chambered and there was a very light primer strike on the cartridge. But no fire. I would have to pull the bolt back a little to let it slam back in, then it would fire. Almost like the bolt is not coming back down on the next cartridge hard enough after firing a round.

    Turn up your gas regulator.

I was thinking about that. I need to read my owners manual.

Before you get too worried try using some better ammo. I've had good luck with South African and Australian surplus. Most military surplus is good except Indian which is probably worse than the steel case stuff.

I know 7.62x51 isn't cheap, it's too bad that you didn't stock up when it was cheap.

Turn up your gas regulator is the ticket.. Mine did the same thing and I shoot brown bear ammo and it shoots great. I have also tried win 308 and 7.62.51 they all shoot great. Your FAL will take it all and shoot extremely well. I get about 4" at 100 yds with iron sights. I have shot an 18" steel plate at 400 yds with a scope and hit it consistently..

I also forgot to mention I also used Winchester .308 good stuff that I shoot out of my Savage 10fpc-k and it did the same thing.

is the bolt hanging on the return stroke a bit or is it real smooth?
probably just need to adjust the gas regulator like everybody said
that's what it is there for

Sounds like its what I thought it would be. First time this happen I though "gas adjustment". I totally forgot where the damn adjustment was on a FAL lol. I didn't have my manual with me.

Well, I know this is an older post, but I tried every setting on the gas regulator and this damn FAL did the same damn thing everytime again yesterday. Very disappointing after spending 1300.00 on a rifle. Definitely not the gas regulator. Anyone else want to try?

I think I am going to return this rifle to P2K and tell them whats going on.
