I agree with 10% on all except the brown card. I think that a DMV print out or registration is one of the best PORs. I personally like FFL03's because it's issued by the ATF.

Like I said, that isn't me that takes issue with the brown card. That is BATFE auditor Janice White talking. I generally do exactly what she asks me to do for pretty obvious reasons.

I've used a copy of my residence lease with a few FFLs.

would something like an escow from the title company for a home consider a valid proof of residency?

I would think it depends on when it is dated. Within like 90 days? I might take it. However, only if it said escrow was finished. And this is only for the state, the Feds it wouldn't work.

Last year I DROS'd a lower from Royal Pawn in San Diego and I used the temporary DMV card (they stamp it at the DMV). No problems. You can walk in to the DMV and get it done the same day.

                tenpercentfirearms,

thanks ... i am in the process of doing PPT (waiting period) as a buyer and i just realized my wife changed my dmv address to the our new house. the old address is still valid since we reside there during the week.
the only doc for the new address is a final escrow doc from the title company and a telephone bill w/in the last 90 days.

having said that, do i need to run to the dmv and get a proof of the new address ?

help is much appreicated as i am not sure if i need to inform the place that is doing the ppt.

                    Ian:

Did you have go to back to the FFL and amend the DROS w/in the 10 days waiting period and to provide them with the new proof of residency i.e. phone bill ?

Thanks as I am all confuse now as to what I need to do ...

the FFL told me there were different requirements for pistol vs OLL or long gun or something like that (i forget exactly what he said)

but my DL did not match the address I wrote down. So on my return, I printed out my new change of address via the internet from the DMV site. I do not remember if it was required to show him another proof of residency or not. I would bring it anyways though. cable or power bill should work just as well as phone bill.

                        FUBAR FTF

I was at Bass Pro to do a FTF with the seller....I took my tax assesment bill, mortgage bill, insurance, and none was good.....what a waste of time and money. Call the FFL and check and see what they will accept.
