Honestly i'm surprised that it even fired with the bolt into battery in the ready to fire position, open dust cover and pouring sand on it. I figured it would seize up there but I was wrong. I too would like to see an open bolt, pour sand into it, shake it out and see if it would get too gummed up in the lugs with sand to fire."Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. What?!? Are you actually being serious right now? How old are you? Seriously, because you sound like a 12 year old throwing a temper tantrum, you really need to get off your high horse bud. So far the only things you have done is refused to answer questions (mostly because you claim you have legions of people supporting your position which I have yet to see), insult other members or insinuate they are stupider than you, and whine and complain that the test wasn't scientific enough for you or complain about the testing media involved.
Now after all yourpoststrolling you turn around and accuse me of trolling? Why? Because you couldn't come up with anything on your own? Is that your actual thought process? That if someone uses uses the Troll Smilies that are "hosted" on this forum they have just immediately outted themselves as a troll? I suppose based on your previous posts I shouldn't be surprised, besides my post probably isn't scientific enough for you. Luckily this will be the last of your Troll bait I'll response to. Welcome back to my ignore list (the only reason you came off was to respond to your ridiculous post).Last edited by 4thSBCT; 10-26-2009, 2:33 PM.Comment

IMHO, many people here at first, saw the weapon was port side down, door closed, then stopped watching. They then saw the AK tested in a different way and then POSTED here.
Some people watched all the vids, and knowing both platforms immediately called foul with the AK safety. Now after thinking it over most would agree with us, this was a real world testing of both platforms in a state of ready carried by a person in a firefight or conflict.
And as for the guy asking to see an AR15 with BCG back and filled with sand I will tell you a little story of mine.
I was doing some shooting with guys in Texas, we were run and gunning a course. My AR jammed. While running to my next cover point, I ejected the mag and as I pulled the CH back to eject the jammed round, I tripped and ate sand...so did the AR. In during the fall I bent the CH, locking the bolt 1/2 into battery and packing it with sand and dirt. I was able to replace the CH after screwing with it for what seemed like an hour. After that the weapon jammed a lot. It took a very thorough cleaning to get it to run right.
No one would even jokingly state an AR15 can't be jammed with dirt or crud, we are saying the AK isnt a whole lot better.Last edited by dieselpower; 10-26-2009, 3:55 PM.Comment

Oh a good old Chevy vs Ford debate.Originally posted by FastFingerWe are a dynamic community that reflects society at large. If there is a trait that distinguishes us it is that we're protectors of the the infirm, the elderly, and defenseless women (often sorority sisters who like beer & pillow fights). That means that at some point we may be called on to do battle with zombies. That is nothing to be ashamed of. .Comment

From Spetsnaz in the war in Chechnya to EVEN rebels in Somolia, with zero training, don't buy your safetys off scenario. Even they know to keep it on. So much for your real world scenario.

Yea everyone who doesn't know how to properly handle a rifle agrees with you. Most people know the safety only comes off when your about to pull the trigger and goes right back on after you fire. With that being said, The AK's dust cover would be closed in a realistic situation. In addition, Even if there was an amature running around with the safety off on his AK there's no way you would get the amount of dirt they shoveled into that AK by falling or dropping your rifle. These things are pretty common sense. Most people on this thread picked up on them.
