What rifle do you want but can't have 'cuz you're in CA???

    Here's the skinny:

I'm currently in AZ- I've moved here for at least the next six months, maybe a year. Based on the current situation, I'll probably always have a place here, at least for 5-10 years.

Now that I'm here, I'm absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of toys I can now buy that I didn't even know existed when I was in CA. I'm getting my AZ ID this week so soon I'll be able to purchase firearms here.

So I'm looking for a little input from the forum: what rifles should I look out for here that can't be had in CA? I have ARs so those are covered- but what about the other types that I can't have in CA? I am particularly interested in bullpups (Cabela's had a used MSAR STG 556 for $1400, and a CX4).

So what's on your wish list? Inspire me!

IMO it's a bigger deal to be free of bullet buttons and mag capacity restrictions.

You can have an STG 556 in CA as long as it has a bullet button so I'm not sure that fits into what you're asking for.

On the AR side you could pick up a real Colt rifle but in reality a lower is a lower so it's not that big a deal.

Probably the best place to look would be the Roberti Roos list in 12276 and see if something there strikes your fancy. Most of this stuff has clones available in CA though so it's not quite as exciting a list as it was four or five years ago.

I don't find the AW list as annoying as the safe handgun list. Anything new and modern except for .50 cal rifles can be had in California.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

Not a must-have by any means, but I've always been a little intrigued by the Beretta CX-4 Storm carbine.

EDIT: Oh, you did mention the CX4 in your original post. In that case, I agree on the CX4

Something without a bullet button with 30 rounders that shoots either .223/5.56 or 7.62x39 with a pistol grip and collapsible stock
