Check out my new SU-16CA Forend :)

Was bored today so I whiped this bad boy up out of some thick aluminum pipe I had on the shelf. Weight is about under half a pound. The screws you see are not tension screws. I welded on a bracket to the gas block and drilled and tapped it for the forend screws. This guy is SOLID with no wiggle or play. I cut some vent holes and positioned them in a way that also helps with grip. I'll be adding some aluminum Pic rails on the bottom and sides when they come in. Rifle knocks down as normal and forend is remove with just one allen wrench.

Now, if I could just get the guts to machine an aluminum stock....

        Impressive work, Splat!

Let me know if you get a wild urge to knock out another one and what you might consider charging for it...

ETA Nevermind... I just saw you had to weld a bracket onto the gas block. Do you think there is another solution that would allow for a reversible replacement using your forend?

Why? Because he engineered an alternative to the somewhat flimsy OEM forend using quality materials?

I'm really confused here... are you suggesting any and all aftermarket modifications ever made to every centerfire rifle is nothing more than some misplaced attempt at cloning an AR?

And the price of tea in China is what?

Or I have a really good SU .

Whats with all the hate guys? If you don't like the SU then don't post. Unless of course you feel your words of wisdom are gifts to the rest of us lost and misguided members.

Nice work. I just sold my KelTec because I just didn't shoot it, at all, but that HG would have looked great on it.

What about using button head hex screws. Less chance of snagging. Awesome work though!

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

Good job McGuyver! I'm not a big fan of Kel Tecs but I gotta give credit where credit is due. Cool forend!

On the sidenote, what kind of AR builds do you have??? Just wondering..
