It's been talked about here, that the rimmed 44mag would be difficult to work with. But the Desert Eagle uses an AR style rotating bolt; seems doable.

Would be cool to have a Desert Eagle/AR combination, like having lever action/revolver combo...
Just do a .450 Bushmaster, it's close enough. 250 gr at 2200 fps. Ammo is reasonably available, as are the mags and barrels.

What if he likes it, and wants to try PCC? He needs at least 3 more mags, maybe 4 or 5. With a Glock mag lower, a mag is maybe 15 bucks, if he doesn't have them already..

I don't understand the question. Glock mags are fairly cheap compared to alternatives.

one alternative is the CMMG ARC system, you don't even need a magwell adapter but the mags are around 45$ each. It may only work with a CMMG radial delayed blowback system IDK. CMMG RDB is what I'm running, its really smooth seems to eat everything I've put in it, 115 grain, 147 grain FMJs and JHPs.

The advantage of the ARC system is using P-mags OP might not have to figure out a 9mm bullet button situation. I really wanted to use glock mags so I had to figure out how to modify a 9mm bullet button system to work in my 9mm AR, it was tricky and involved a lot of careful drilling.

CMMG makes a REALLY nice AR9 platform.

I'm going with a stern conversion to use my freedom week glock mags.

Taccom makes some that are sub $200.
MBX has a 10.5" with an extension.

Thesec are mainly used for competition especially steel challenge to reduce the swing weight

Stern has the complete upper/bolt/mag well adapter set up. A bit expensive but there’s no guessing on parts/compatibility.

It works with standard Milspec style trigger and no need to change the buffer spring/weight

You can run any 9mm upper with the standard buffer and spring, but that doesn't mean you should. Except for CMMG, the bolt is a direct blowback. The only things that keep the bolt "locked" is the mass and spring. The higher mass and heavier spring delays the bolt from moving back. If you run the standard spring and buffer, the bolt will start moving earlier reducing the pressure behind the bullet and dumping more gasses out the back.

Worst than that. If the pressure is still high and the brass is extracted, brass will give and blow out into the receiver and potentially destroy your receiver or worst a hospital visit.

It will blow crap in your face and maybe the case might rupture with some shrapnel. There's not enough pressure to blow up the receiver.

May not blow it apart, but may deform it, and becomes unserviceable.

I had a P226 case blow out once, it bulged the steel slide, blew out the grip panels and stripped the mag out of the mag well.
