Thats the scary part, they aim for a military unit and hit a city. Pretty sure they don't need MOA accuracy with a nuke.

Not so sure their nukes wouldn't work, for a long time we couldn't even get supplies and change space station crews unless the Russians gave us a ride. Same for the Chinese, they are quite busy on the Moon and for all the talk that we have already been there, the Chinese went there for a reason and it's not the play in the dust.

You mean MCX. As in .223 or .300 Blackout.

If I bought a Spear it would be a .308, and then if I was still alive in 10 years, get a .277 barrel.

No, I meant Sig MPX. .40 S&W and .357 like Sig said it would.

Nobody cares about either cartridge any more, so I don't blame them.

The ammo will be $2.25 /rnd when it's available.

It's cool, but not $8k cool. You can get similar performance out of an AR chambered in 6.8SPC

It looks like there is some ammo around, $1.50/rd before tax/ship

I would not be surprised if Sig put out some "loss leader" deals on the first batches to get ammo in circulation and perhaps pull through some gun sales. It will be interesting to see how the price trends from here.

Actually, I think it'll be the opposite. SOF already has the SCAR 17 and those aren't used much outside of Recce/Sniper units.
Although I could see the XM5 being useful when working with partner forces in places like Mali, Yemen, Niger, etc. where you could be shooting at distance.

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Except half of the entire point of the cartridge isn't long range. It's defeating modern armor. Something that 5.56 just can't do at even moderate distances. Lvl4 plates are the norm in some places (though interestingly doesn't seem to be helping the Russkies right now, so perhaps that's an overblown concern).

We aren't going to fight in Ukraine. We aren't going to fight in Russia either.

We are going to fight in Somalia if anyone has been paying attention. Perhaps the Somali's are all geared up with top tier armor? Hype someone up on some drugs and they don't need armor and some wonder bullet isn't going to make any difference either.

This is about money, a toy to show support for the troops, than you for your service and all that. Then hope NATO members change from 5.56 to the new weapon and ammo too.

Meanwhile, some 12 year old Somali with a FAL or AK will do what they can and we'll wonder what went wrong with GTFO 2.0

Does anyone know whether other manufactures intend to follow suite and develop either gas guns or bolt action rifles in 6.8 X 51 mm (Sig. 0.277 Fury)? I could imagine that the precision rifle shooting community or manufacturers of high-end gas guns (e.g., JP Enterprises) might have an interest in this new caliber.
