If receiver cross sections are identical, forged will be stronger than cast.
For the Yahoos who can't stand Polytech, ask where their last optics came from.
Imo, Polytech makes a better M1A than Springfield.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.
Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

Polytec over sai most definitely.
My sai operates rough. It was sent back to sai. They "fixed" it so I guess I should be happyDo not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the media, for they will steal your Honour

Nice rifle all.
I replaced mine with a wood cover. It FIT fine however, it was unfinished! I had to put 5 coats on Tung oil on it then had to do the same to my SA so they matched. They do. I will have to do another as I cut out the top for a barrel mouneted picatinny that I don't use and THAT sucker gets hot enough to do a number on my fingers.
Sailormilan2, (if you don't mind answering) what is that mount you have? Where did you get it? How much did you pay for it? How far above the upper handgrip does it place the scope?
Thanks.Comment

That is a Ewings. No longer made. I stumbled across it on evilBay. Very simple, steel mount. Mounts the same way as a Bassett, so it's essentially a slow tech Bassett. Also, heavier than a Bassett at about 8 oz.
The scope ring base is positionable vertically, and is nothing but a Weaver base. On mine, the base was too short for the scope to be placed far enough back for me to use, so I replaced it with a spare base that was longer I had sitting around. There were two models made. One with 3 sets of position holes(like mine) and one with 4.Comment
