When available around $550-600, it is a fun simple blowback 9mm carbine. Loved plinking with it. Hopefully there will be aftermarket drop in wood stock to mimic appearance of a PPSh

Why so many Ruger PC carbines for sale?

Yup.
I bought the PCC within months of it being released and didnt even get around to shooting it before I sold it for the same reason you sold yours.
I'd rather use my Glock 19 for HD than a PCC. And if I need a carbine for defense outside of a dwelling, Im going with a 556AR not a 9mm PCC.
Only reason I would buy another PCC is if I was shooting competition and 9mm cost the same as .22lr.CRPA and NRA member.

Great gun for range days. My only complaint is that the bolt hold open doesn't always hold open when you go to take it down.
Sights are nice, never had to adjust them out of the box. Eats the cheapest of the cheap steel case...never had a hiccup.
Very good gun for new shooters. Start them on the Ruger 10/22 and progress to the PC Carbine...Same function, a little more recoil.
Edit....one malfunction...had a case bounce off the wall of my lane and end up back in the action...But that doesn't count.Last edited by SBC400; 05-27-2021, 5:08 PM.Comment

As I wrote earlier I feel the PCC is perfect for home defense especially if you live with neighbors around you and don't want the danger of rounds fired but not connecting being lethal 300 yds away.
It is easier for my wife to properly aim, fire, and repeat with this carbine than a handgun.
But each to his or her own.
Home defense carbine
Fun range toy
A pleasure to drill with.Comment

i have my pcc staged as my primary HD gun. alongside my glock
i live in suburbia so even running outside of my home, i don't foresee shooting out past 100 yards, which the 9mm is capable of doing.Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... And the only scenario I can imagine ever needing to use a longgun to shoot outside my home is SHTF (looters, mob, arsonists, etc...) or confronted by multiple armed assailants who may be wearing soft armor. In that case I have a 556AR, AK, M1A, or 762AR to choose from. Im not fooling around with a 9mm carbine if SHTF.
Pretty much the only scenario I can imagine where I would choose 9mm, is if I had to evacuate on foot, "gray man" with minimal equipment and in that case I would take a small 9mm handgun like a Glock 19 or Shield. If I could take a longgun in a backpack, it would be a disassembled AR.
If It were legal for me to possess in CA, I would jump at the opportunity to take a suppressed 9mm SMG for HD (like a Sig MPX), but a Ruger PCC is not an SMG.
This is the only "PCC" I would be interested in:

It kinda fills no role. It’s not cheap to shoot, it’s not powerful like a rifle, it’s not lightweight.Comment

I dont rely on 9mm for HD. My primary HD guns are a Glock 22, a Glock 21, or a 12ga shotgun, whichever one I am closer to.

for the outlier events like SHTF and mobs, i have different guns.Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... Better than a semi auto only UZIComment

It is cheap to shoot.
Some of us bought truck loads of the cheapest Russian ball several years back, when we were using it as ballast. Mine eats that stuff up all day, and just keeps going. It’s been a great tool in teaching new shooters.
I’ve also killed a bunch of ground squirrels with it, and for inside the house, prefer it to any of our AR-type weapons.Comment

I was at my local Sportsman's and got to talking to the guy at the counter. They had three ordered online by customers for $599. All three customers ended up cancelling their orders after the guns came in....
They then put them on the shelf and sold all three in two days.
Sounds to me like they are only impulse buys these days and if guys take the time to think about the purchase they end up passing.Comment

I had a basic model one, great fun gun. It could fill a role as a HD rifle too, easy to use, red dot held zero and had acceptable recoil.
Problems with it were two FTE that happened under 500 rounds. It is a little heavy for what it is and if i didnt hold it right i could accidently bump the mag release.
Traded it off for something else

hypothesis: I think there was a hype around them but in reality, what is the point of a 9mm rifle?
Why would I ever pick this up instead of my AK? my .556 calibers? .308s?
That's what went through my mind at least when I thought about purchasing a .40s&w model, they go for $1000 now! lolComment
