Why so many Ruger PC carbines for sale?

I'm just curious. I don't own one of the takedown models and don't necessarily want one. In fact I own one of the originals from a couple of decades ago and am very happy with it. But is there a reason I see so many of the new models for sale on Calguns in the $700-$800 range? Is there something wrong with the gun or are some owners just trying to cash in by selling them for a few hundred dollars more than they spent to buy them? Inquiring minds want to know.

IMHO its a great fun gun for around $450 when they came out. I suspect those FS in the $700-$800 range are for the $ given current market has few in stores

Plenty in stores for $599. Same ones going for $800+ in marketplace. Nothing wrong this those guns sellers just want +200 over MSRP on an USED gun that's all.

I agree, worth the $500 that I paid for mine. But way over priced at $700+

hypothesis: I think there was a hype around them but in reality, what is the point of a 9mm rifle?

Why would I ever pick this up instead of my AK? my .556 calibers? .308s?

That's what went through my mind at least when I thought about purchasing a .40s&w model, they go for $1000 now! lol

Hella fun, very functional and versatile, and much better than the "originals", which are very much different in almost every way.

A 9mm rifle has its place, just like any other tool in your toolbox. As far cas comparing to other rifles, it boils down to cost of ammo. This is the same reason people shoot 22LR vs 9mm. Irregardless of inflated ammo prices, the price of each caliber will be equally inflated, so it will still be cheaper to shoot 22lr than 9mm, and 9mm than 223/556.

I bought mine in 2019 and I had the mlok model. Great for what it is and fun to shoot. I actually bought it for my wife to shoot with me when we go out to the range or BLM, but she found it too heavy. I didn't need another long gun for myself so sold this at barely more than what I bought it for and got a keltec sub2k. That one is light enough for her to shoot. Still takes glock mags I can fold it neatly in my backpack. I enjoyed it and of I had endless money. Wouldve kept it

This question gets asked frequently, but the subject changes. Glocks, AKs, ARs, Vortex scopes, Toyota Camrys, etc. with the usual implication that there must be something wrong with them. No. It’s just that a lot of people bought them, so it’s just plain numbers that you’ll also see a lot for sale.

If you have any deadbeat guns, now's the time to unload them.

I was pizzed when I got mine at Big 5 for $569, then saw them elsewhere for $519

It's the 9mm shortage/prices IMHO, you could shoot it all day when 9mm was .16 cpr

I like mine, with a red dot, very accurate and can put a nice grouping around 75 yds or so, I like the idea of compatibility with my G17, takes the same mags and ammo, not much to think about in an SHTF situation, just grab it and the G17 10 Magazine Pouch and we are good to go for self-defense hold out. Also, the take-down feature is nice for carrying. The only downside it is a bit beefy and heavy.
