M1As have excellent iron sights and ergonomics for shooting with iron sights. So I just shoot my M1As like I shoot my M1 Garands, with iron sights like they were meant to be used.
I have a SA M1A Scout and a Hahn Machine & Tool Springfield Armory M14. The M14 stays as is and I can do almost as well with a NM peep rear and Alley globe front sights:

One of my Garands has a modified rear sight ladder, threaded to take Lyman, Merit, Parker Hale apertures.

The M1A Scout uses an ARMS mount and a very small 1 to 4X scope mounted low. It's not a "for real" M1A or M14 so I figure a little configuration deviation isn't all that bad.
