Do you have a bite down on a cigar to get a chinweld on that stock?

I use GG&G accucam QD mounts for my ACOG's. Very solid, repeatable zero and can be removed with gloved fingers as needed. Very good choice there.

It is now a 13# rifle with a loaded mag. Maybe 14#?

*That would include the cleaning kit in the trap door.

Looks cool. Would be interested to see what kind of groups this gun shoots with that set up.

I've tried to like using scopes on my M1A, but always end up liking iron sights best on this platform.

Much prefer an AR-10 platform (I have a LaRue Predatar with 18" barrel) for scoped semi-auto in .308 / 7.62x51

Hopefully you have some ammo to put through that bad boy!

Heavy........ask those who carried in in Boot Camp

Though the M14 was quite popular in Vietnam vs the early days of the M16, I guess that is all the matters.

Not quite but it would help, I am looking at different cheek rests for it.

No cleaning kit but it is 13 pounds with a loaded 20 round magazine, granted I have not picked out a bipod just yet so I think it will top out at 14-15 pounds with the cheek rest included.

I have used the GG&G Accucam 30mm cantilever with my Aimpoint on my first AR for many years now, it always returns the zero and that's why I went with this one for the M1A. It will make cleaning and other maintenance much simpler.

I've had good luck with this cheek rest from Fulton. 3 heights to play with.

I had an M1A that came with a scope mount. I tried mounting a scope on it with a cheek rest but it was just too awkward to be worth it. The butt rode so low on my chest that it would slip down constantly. Just a real hassle and totally impractical. Not to mention the weight.

M1As have excellent iron sights and ergonomics for shooting with iron sights. So I just shoot my M1As like I shoot my M1 Garands, with iron sights like they were meant to be used.

As it is now, only Lenny Dykstra and Lionel Richie could actually use that rifle.

The scope is so big I bet you could hit Tranquility Base with it.
