Because you asked.
I'd shoot it, but I wouldn't own a gun and not shoot it.Last edited by Robert1234; 03-13-2021, 2:42 PM.Comment

Anyone have a safe queen that they have taken steps towards protecting the brass deflector from getting banged up too much from doing its job? Especially if shooting cheap steel cased ammo.
I would be curious if anyone has tried putting a piece of gaffer's or electrical tape or maybe brushed on some plati-dip over the pad of the deflector. Any risk of the adhesive actually doing damage to the upper's finish?Last edited by Robert1234; 03-13-2021, 2:40 PM.Comment

I think the OP should tell us what AR is he wanting to protect. What an individual does about his gun, among the other guns he owns, depends a lot on what the gun is and what it is to him. I have guns I use all the time with mildly worn finish. Those I don’t worry about because they’re shooters. And then there are collector items I’d hate to mar and damage. Would I hate to scratch a 90th Anniversary AKM signed by Mikhail Kalashnikov himself? Hell, yes.
