I agree if I'm stepping up past 15 rds of 10mm 180 grain Underwood ammo. I'm going Fmj in the Ar or Stepping way up to 308.

Not using an AR for HD, but if it got bad enough to use it, I won't be worrying about bullet type.

Alternate every other round in mags with LAP and SP 223.

What I typically do is to buy a big batch of ammo, shoot some of those to make sure they're pretty reliable, and then I'll load up my magazines with those until the next range session.
