This device looks like a muzzle brake to me, so it should be fine for featureless application

In all seriousness it will take two weeks until it gets to the store and another at least 10 days for the DROS. We all know how it goes. The good news is I will have some time to get the ammo which is hard to find these days. My purchase was not motivated by the political and social situation. I was planning an AR15 purchase for this summer for quite some time but the Springfield Professional purchase pushed the AR purchase a little further. I guess I have a thing for things that have "Pro/Professional" in their name.

Just a quick double check: If I decide to go featureless, the only thing I have to replace is the stock and the grip, right?

By the way, I just realized something: Does this rifle come with any sights? I don't see sights on the pictures.

Dang, look at you with the Springfield Pro!!!

      Congrats!!!

Please don't tell me you forgot to order your shoulder thing that goes up, along with your lethality-increasing barrel shroud....

Re: Sights; to my knowledge, no; DD's don't usually come from the factory with any sights.

I happen to have a set of 95%+ condition Troy Micro Folding BUIS for sale if you are interested! (Shameless plug).

Otherwise, I have a set of DD's fixed sights & think those are beautiful too. Would suggest you look at getting a set of those.....if you can find them! Tough to get.

Re: Ammo; where are you located? River City Gun Exchange in Sacramento has tons of everything in stock. Guns, ammo; everything.

Get the renegade plus. Get the p415 if you are going to run suppressed or have really high per session round counts. Otherwise, the renegade is fast handling and accurate rifle with a great trigger and BCG.

Keep it on the gun. And it's excellent. It really helps you stay on target.

Regardless of what people here will tell you, DD makes a top-tier rifle at a competitive price.

OP; ARs are crazy in the responses & "advice" they elicit.

            Invariably, as has already happened here, AR "advice" always, always goes exactly like this;

"Hey I want to get XYZ AR for $XXX price - what do you guys think?"

            Forum replies:

"You can build a better AR for half the price, 1/3 the price, [insert price here]"

"They're OK I guess, but overpriced. You could build for cheaper."

THEN, when you decide to embark on building an AR & start asking for advice you'll get people telling you to "buy a factory rifle because it's cheaper."

            You literally can't win.

DD's are rock solid guns, buy it & enjoy it.

Just get ready to buy more; you can't own just one.

            .

Congrats on the purchase! Yeah, people will be aching and butt hurt about the costs...ignore them. At this point you aren't building a gun for fun....you can do that on the next one. At that time you can pick and choose how you want to spend your money. For now, you want a quality, dependable gun so you can focus on shooting and learning. I'm biased bc I bought a DDM4V7 as my first AR lol.

Since you have a nice quality functioning gun on the way, you can focus on iron sights, optics, and then trigger maybe down the road. And you can focus on getting ammo and maybe training of course. You can monkey around doing gun troubleshooting on a future homebuilt lol

I got some nice iron sights so I shot with them for while while waiting for my optics..it was great.

If you don't want to remove the flash hider, pin the stock, and put a fin grip on I suggest going with an AR Maglock and kingpin. I personally can't think of going without my dangerous and menacing adjustable stock.

At this stage of the game, its great to have the opportunity to buy any gun and buy any ammo. I hope this ammo shortage doesn't turn into long term issue. I'm thinking of the ammo shortages in recent years.

Buy any and all ammo you can find.

I feel way more manly when shooting my Aero M5 vs one of those girly 223/556 rifles.

                  Urban combat

Buy a lower priced rifle and spend the money on carbine training.
