He probably doesn't want to thread the barrel. The good Uzi cans attached using a barrel nut. Maybe there are some new ones that work better now, but that used to be the hot ticket.

There are threaded 1/2x28 barrels with various lengths, perfect for existing suppressors. Makes a perfect mp5 competitor once you sbr.

I sure enjoyed the one I had it would have been nicer if it had the wood butt stock.

Any suggestions for a good gunsmith for UZIs? I need to un-pistol mine.

Really cool find. UZIs always remind me of Chuck.

UZIs with tracers are fun. Nice and slow rate.

Years ago I purchased a surplus top cover to use as an "accurizing" project; I carefully welded some strips of small steel rod down the inside of the cover, close to the front. Followed by careful machining and some filing ensured that when placed on the receiver, there was no side-to-side play, and the whole extra cover was now very well fitted and had no movement. This allowed a RDS (early Aimpoint) to be mounted with a B-Square mount that used four small bolts that squeezed the top cover in an eccentric fashion, providing a very solid mount. Great thing about it was that the cover can be removed in the usual manner, without needing to loosen the mount or RDS. How did it work?....pretty well, as the group size shrank by about 50%, and that cover can be used on all three of the carbines with only an elevation adjustment between calibers.
If you are using a wood stock, accuracy seems better than the collapsing units whilst going with the RDS. I still have the mount and top cover, but gave away that old Aimpoint. Might be time to resurrect that stuff, now that RDS tech is so much better.

I had one of those. It was magnificent. I wish I hadn't sold it with my Uzi.

edit: The one at US Barrel Shrouds is not as good as mine. Mine had a small tab on the bottom that was perfect for unloading a loaded magazine.

The Mini is much better, imo. It has a nice sized handguard to hold onto. Unfortunately it isn't much of a secret because Mini prices are high.

My friend has an Uzi and a MP5, both are registered, transferable full autos (MP5 trigger pack) that he uses as rentals. The Uzi never gives him any problems, the MP5 on the other hand is always breaking something.

Having fired both, I find that I prefer the Uzi over the MP5 in rock and roll mode. As audiophil2 showed in his video, the Uzi's relatively slow rate of fire makes it very controllable.

Not a very useful gun, but an icon for sure. I would want it too.
