What size drill bit?

You drill through the middle of the post from the latch side of the lower and the latch bar detatches from the post.



This is best done in a milling machine or drill press with the reciever fixtured so it won't move.
Once you get the latch bar off of the post, the post and bullet button will just fall out of the lower.

Sorry to threadjack, anyone have a reasonable source for about 2-4 standard magazine catch springs? The link above (primary arms) has 'em for $.59/ea, but $8.24 shipping kills the deal.

I have that red bullet button replacement on all my lowers that you can back out a bit, so it acts like a standard mag release. I want to replace them with standard parts, but can't find any standard springs.

I checked them too and passed. I needed to order 2 springs and 2 catches. This placed worked out better for me. They're in California so I supported a semi local business and even though I had to pay tax it still came out cheaper.

Got my hands on one of those little BB install/removal tools and I was able to get one of the BB out with no problem. I'm going to work on my S&W and see what i can do to not have to use a drill.
