does anyone on this board have a trust set up, and have gone through the process, and own sbr's in cali? if so provide some links and contact info. how much does it cost, and how long does it take, is it easy. or a bunch of red tape.

If I have a family trust, I can get a AOW (Serbu Super Shorty) by filling out Form 1 or 4 and get BATF aprovial?

      Its really that simple?

        Yes, you can.

look at the link in my sig for more info.

Form 1'ing your own AOW is the easiest way right now, since there aren't really any "Class III" dealers in CA willing to Form 4 you a Super Shorty. M24armorer will make an AOW on your supplied PG-only firearm.

Read the link in my sig.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Contact oaklander in order to set up a trust. You will need $600 to set it up.

              lol

LOL i just read over all that suff ...the hell with it, they make it so hard, that there's no point in owning that crap your subject to an inspection and audit at any time if your registered for that type of permit lol If i'm willing to go through all the trouble to do that paperwork i might as well go and try and join S.W.A.T. , D.E.A or the F.B.I. I'm fit and have my degrees. Anyone else on here ever have those thoughts. just go sign up, and have the key to everything, including the gear.

Unless you are getting/making an AOW or C&R SBR/SBS, you need to get a Dangerous Weapons License/Permit, before you can get a CLEO sign off and submit a Form 1 or 4 to the BATFE.
If you get approved for a Dangerous Weapons Permit and approved on your Form 1 or 4, you have to register the SBR with CA DOJ via Short-Barreled Shotgun & Short-Barreled Rifle Inventory form and you have to register the location where the SBR will be stored along with what vehicles the SBR will be transported in with the CA DOJ via Report of Security Compliance form. Transporting or storing the SBR in a non-registered location is cause for revocation of your Dangerous Weapons permit.
You also have to pay a yearly fee for your Dangerous Weapons permit and you are subject to CA DOJ BOF inspection audits.

Everything has a price. If having an SBR or suppressor is so important to you, then you might as well consider moving to a state where you can own one. I get that kind of crap all the time, as much as I would like both, the problem is I don't want them THAT much. I was born and raised in California. I love my state. The industry I work in is internationally centered here. I love the weather and the overall quality of life. I love that I can drive less than a half hour and shoot steel all day. I can drive a 100 miles and shoot pretty damned far - all with my legally owned rifles.

I don't have a whole lot of complaints, really.

Hey, I've lived all over the world and I understand where you're coming from. I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had to commute more than 20 minutes in the last 9 years because I decided to bite the bullet and live near where most of my work is. If I had to commute an hour each way, I'd hate life too. In fact, I hardly drive - I ruck to work 5 miles each way at least twice a week - good for the soul
