Don't ruin your mags. Leave them in America for when you return. You are going back right? RIGHT?!

Just don't come here. You'll hate every minute of it. Take a week's vacation in North Korea and that will simulate life here

There is no ruling from cadoj on what is permanent and legal. I used a block and pop rivet.

            Dude, you'll fit right in.

You own a 1911. They hold less than 10 rounds and they're pretty much single shot.. since they rarely work.

The possession of the magazine may become legal with a 458 floorplate, but loading the mags with 5.56 results in an ammunition feeding device capable of feeding more than 10 rounds.
                  Not legal to use.

Of course don't get caught in CA with 5.56 in your .458 SOCOM mag.

do you have to have the plates or can you mark them another way like spay paint or engrave the side of the mag?

When I was in ca, and I come back to shoot often. I used the plastic blocks, and the black epoxy stuff that dried really hard from this place on my dedicated blocked mags. The black epoxy is pretty damn strong and dries like cement (just epoxy the floor plate shut, super easy). Pretty much permanent in my eyes. If I wanted to scrape it off the floor plates to open them up, the mags would def be getting messed up. And if the mags get damaged trying to take them apart, you know it should be good enough to be considered "permanent".

5, 10, and 15 round magazine capacity limiters for rifle and pistol magazines of all sizes. Convert magazines to hold 5, 10, or 15 rounds.

Don't use your .458 SOCOM mag in a rifle with a 5.56 upper installed.

There are companies that sell to CA that 1) use a rivet/roll pin to stop the follower from going down and accepting more than 10 rounds 2) internally block and glue the floor plate 3) internally block and rivet the floor plate and 4) internally block the magazine

I think you misunderstand my thinking. I agree with you on not loading 556 into a 458 mag/inserting 458 mag in 556 configured rifle, your just asking for trouble if you do that. What I was getting at is other states don't care what you mag says it is it's just a mag. So for instance if I shoot in Nevada I can bring my 458 mags, unload them and then load them with 556 have a good old time load 458 mags up with 458 and then come back to CA.
