This is somewhat tough yet somewhat easy. If you do not have a 10/22, you NEED one. If you have one, I would go with a gsg-5 SD once they come out. IMHO the sig 522 looks fugly. Too odd looking. I always wanted a GSG-5 SD tho

Its hard to say since the SIG and S&W arent even out yet to know if they will be a quality product

10/22's are on sale at big5 right now.
the gsg's group really well. i got the chance to shoot one and was very impressed. just felt a little too toy like with it's furniture with movement.

but c'mon what you mean the 522 looks fugly? it's so close the 552 and that carbine is boss. i'm so glad that they didn't load the 556 furniture on the 522 cause the 556 is the hideous one. just needs to change clothes into the classic furniture and it looks decent again.

The 10/22 is the chameleon 22 rifle. It can be "upgraded" to look like an AR, Tommy Gun, or even function as a precision shooting rifle depending on what you put on it. +1 for the 10/22.

I will agree with the above. If you dont already have a 10/22 that should absolutely be your first choice. Theres an endless amount of mods, parts, upgrades etc that you can do to them. GSG-5 is cool but only after you have a 10/22 The other two arent available yet and personally i'd let someone else be the test mule. Whats the saying? never buy the first year of a new model (car)?

Haven't yet had the opportunity to fondle or shoot a Sig 552, but I want one! I love my Spikes AR 22 and anticipate loving the Sig too. Of the choices posted, that is the one I'd pick up immediatley if given the oportunity.

                    the 22lr is a sig 522
the 552 is the older 223 carbine

the 522 looks super similar to a 552. but it's actually built around the 556 with the classic furniture that gives it the look of the older 550 series rifles. just to clarify a bit.

Oh, c'mon! You left out the WASR-22! It can be tacticool too! ...but, if you don't want a "project gun" (I mean, SERIOUS project gun) then grab a GSG-5 - they're tons o' fun too...

                      Tacticool, yeah?

There are so many accessories, parts, etc. for the 10/22 that it can be altered to suit just about any .22LR shooter.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Being that the 10/22's are so cheap, buy a GSG & a 10/22.
