      I actually would have just asked for AK mags. It has nothing to do with your post, but if I was there, that's what I would have been looking for.

        The only two STANAG's I've heard of are scopes and magazines.

        The scopes are old. M-14 era stuff on FAL's and G3's.

        The AR-15 was around at that time but NATO didn't take it seriously.

        The AR-15 magazine didn't become a STANAG item until much much later.

        So an AR-15 magazine has always been an AR-15 magazine, it has only recently become a STANAG item and then NATO would laugh at the 10 round versions that we have. They are certainly not STANAG.

          it is stanag 4179 if it fits in the well and feeds ammo regardless of capacity

          i guess the slap tube is easier than the rock and lock

            If someone came up to me at the CWS booth and asked about STANAG magazines, I would have honestly said I didn't know which of the magazines were truly STANAG compliant. However, they will fit and function in AR-15's. I'd offer suggestions as to which I would think would be most likely to be (C-Products for example) but I wouldn't swear STANAG on something I didn't know STANAG on for sure.
