    sling attachment problem

    hey

so I have a YHM two piece rail system and a CTR stock. My CTR stock as a QD point but my YHM only has a threaded hole for several of their options. I want to use a Vickers sling with two points of QD. Anyone have any ideas for how to get the YHM to receive the QD?

    Thanks.

Rail Attached Sling Mount like a Daniel Defense.

Find the full line of firearms, parts and accessories from Daniel Defense, including AR-15’s, AR-Pistols and Bolt Action Rifles for sport shooting and hunting.

Not going to happen, at least with out having one custom made. No one makes the push button qd female part that has a stud on it to thread into the YHM rails.

The DD or similar is the way to go. That's why you bought the railed handguard, so you could put things where you need them.

Might be possible to get a machine shop to mill out the threaded hole to accept QD.

Is the YHM solution not a possibility? Using the the YHM-9469 Swivel Stud and the YHM-9470 1-1/4 inch Q.D. Sling Swivel?

it is not a possibility because I already bought a vickers sling with both ends being QD.
might end up selling the YHM rails and getting the troy one. I love that it comes in FDE and has QD option already.

Interesting, my 2 Vickers slings (from Blue Force) did not come with attachment hardware permanently sewn on.

Go with the Troy rails. They're definitely worth it. Daniel Defense Omega Rails also come with integrated QD mounts, and they also offer FDE. Better than the Troy, IMO, since they have the slim profile.

So far the troy DI rail in FDE I purchased is a steaming pile of crap. The rails are out of spec (tapered up to .016 on the worst rail) and it flops around like a fish out of water on my carbine upper. I did get a UPS label from troy to send it back for a replacement unit but from a thread on ar15 even the new one might not be up to par. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have the problems worked out on the replacement.

I replaced the troy with a DD omega and am much happier. The Omega only has one QD mounting hole towards the back. Also the Omega FDE is quite a bit darker than the troy FDS

I bought the DI because the color matched the other items on my carbine upper build but I will live with the black DD and tan covers.
