Finally thinking about making a move for my first .22 rifle and Im thinking to go with a Ruger 10/22. My AR build is taking a backseat for now and I did some research using the search and found that the lastest models have plastic trigger housings. Also what is the difference between these two models except for the stock?

You will not find a better .22 at any price. The Ruger 10/22 is a legend. And not to mention, its about the only gun any of us can afford to shoot anymore.Proudly nestled all snugly and warm in Hillary's basket. She even made room for my bibles and guns!

I think you've answered your own question. It appears the only difference is the stock. They are both carbine models. Over the years there have been several variations, mostly with respect to the stocks. There have also been rifle length barrels and target bull barrels, not to mention stainless steel.
I currently have three 10/22's. One is a carbine, similar to the linked pic. I purchased it new over 30 years ago for under $80 IIRC. I have one "tacticool" model with a folding stock and pre-ban 25 round mags, red dot, and a bi-pod. I bought it used and built it up. My newest one is a 10/22T, the target model with match chamber and .920 inch bull barrel. All are blue.
10/22's are great! I've looked at other .22 rimfire rifles, but for what I want them to do, the 10/22 fits the bill at a decent price and with the ability to add on tons of aftermarket accessories.
I'd buy the Ruger before I bought a Marlin or Remington rimfire.
