guess i'll have to wait for an out of state vendor to sell the threaded barrel version with the magazine removed.

...I'm loving the photoshop skills. An X-22 Hunter stock from Magpul is almost inevitable. The only thing I'd want more than that would be a 9mm Ruger Charger with an arm brace. Could we get you to fire up the photoshop machine to see what this might look like? Thanks, in advance...Clydedog

Because Ruger wants to sell a lot of them, not just a few of them.

I read about the pre-order sale in this thread, I didn't see it on their website nor email. The guy in Pasadena Turner's was about to ring up $569.99 but then I remembered this thread and I asked him isn't there a $529.99 preorder special, he walked to the back and then came back out and adjusted the price.

How many times has Turners done this? They seem to pull this maneuver a lot hoping the customer isn't paying attention. They've tried this on me before.

More options are good. Personally, I don't know why people want to muck up a perfectly good classic look like a Mossberg pump, Rem 870, or standard lines of a 10/22 with angled Magpul tech crap and plastic MLOK. Especially when the standard stock adjust LOP such a wide range. I guess even PC9's have to look like AR's for some people. IMHO.

I have a Magpul backpacker stock on my 10/22 and love it. I didn't buy it for the looks, it has a lot more functionality than the original stock. It's lighter weight, has better ergonomics, and it has storage compartments too. There's a reason the Magpul "tech crap" as you put it is so popular. And I don't think anybody has a Magpul stock on their Ruger carbines yet. That being said, I think this particular Ruger PC will have a pretty nice stock and Magpul may have a difficult time improving on it.

I'm actually liking the looks of this Ruger stock. To me, it seems pretty well thought out. Glass filed nylon stock with a rail up front, adjustable l.o.p., sling studs. It's not just an afterthought like the synthetic stock that came with my 10/22. It doesn't leave me wanting much more, I think this will be a pretty cool gun out of the box, I'm really looking forward to it.
