It can be registered just not as an AWComment

actually he edited it after I posted, realizing he made a mistake and adding that bolded part
and as far as building a featured rifle tomorrow, if it has a fixed mag, it does not meet the classification for needing to be registered. so no, it can't be registered, as it is not an AW -- same as building a featureess"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ QuietComment

Thanks. I am very impressed with the Bear Flag Defense and Mean Arms loaders.
How nice of him to advise his customers that it's OK to commit a felony.
In that case, the registration would be denied because the gun was not DROS'd to you before this year.
That is of course a concern. Delrin pins are available that will shift the wear from the receiver to the pin.
There are also options for top-loading without opening the assembly available from Bear Flag Defense and Mean Arms.Comment

granted, and I don't disagree, but a lot of people rarely read the whole thread, and thus, are armed with bits and pieces of full thoughts, making it almost impossible to figure out what info is correct and incorrect
at this point, there are limited options (unless the lawyers can get this overturned)
if pre-2017, register the BB - go featureless, or fixed mag
if after 2017, featureless or fixed mag
OR be a felonious, "I am too hard for the government oppression and I ain't registering anything!"
EDIT: re-reading the OP's post, I think he may have some terminology or thoughts mixed up thoughLast edited by jimbo74; 12-16-2017, 5:37 PM."It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

No.
A BB no longer satisfies to create a 'fixed magazine' under the 2017 definition at 30515The BB device itself is neutral. Have 3 if you like.(b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

The bullet button is not a feature, and the DOJ regs indicate that registration applications for featureless will be rejected.
Further, it has been illegal since Jan 1 to assemble a featured build THAT WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR REGISTRATION AS INQUIRED ABOUT IN THIS THREAD
Sorry... if you really WANT to register (why?) you missed the boat by 12 months.Comment
