1/11 twist for the complete assembly? Is that the "ideal" for 7.62/.308? I see DPMS and Noveske have 1/10 twist rate.

I see that the upper assembly w/o barrel is w/o forward assist. Most don't have need for it, but isn't it good to have it anyway?

Due to a contractor demand Armalite will now make their AR-10 uppers with forward assist. I have two of them, but the serrated BCGs are backordered. Having said that, so far I haven't had the need for forward assist on my old 20" AR-10.

If you're asking about it with regard to the barrel they have.. Basically that's just a 20" barrel with a non-flattop front sight, and it's not chrome lined.
