    LMT?

Im checking out the dynamicarmament website and came across the
LEWIS MACHINE AND TOOL completed upper. Anyone have experience with it? Quality build? It is a 10.5'' . And what does the twist mean? For instance, the one im looking at has a 1/7 twist? Thanks!

LMT makes nice stuff. Do a search on calguns for 10.5 inch uppers, they may not be legal for you to use. The 1/7 twist is for every 7 inches down the barrel it has 1 twist which allows you to use a heavier bullet. LMT, 10.5, and 1.7 in th esearch engine has been talked about alot so the search should get you about everything you need.

LMT is top quality..... but with 10 posts and what looks like your a new to AR's in CA I would suggest you hold off til you know better.

10.5 = Too short (unless on pistol AR)
There are plenty of posts on twist rates ...just do a search.

Make sure what your doing is legal first.

It's ok for an AR pistol. It would be a state and federal felony to have a short barreled AR in California without some unobtainium permits.

You have some good advice posted here- search carefully, and do not proceed without confirming that what you are building/modifying is/will be CA and ATF-compliant. SBRs are a no-go; the upper could be used for an AR pistol build, but there are [serious] possession issues to consider prior to purchase (sequence of possession).

IC..yeah im probably staying away from building a AR pistol. Well right now I have a RRA completed lower...And just looking for a basic completed upper (16''). I want one with a detachable carrying handle so I can put in a sight/scope. I was just thinking RRA, Stag, or Double Star....Just a basic, decent, somewhat cheap upper. Having trouble finding em though! J and J Armory in Santa Ana has some for $800 +...Is this a ok deal?

plus the prices are a bit marked-up, not horrible, but $585 vs $485 for the upper less bcg, ch, and handguards

Nope, The Federal limit is 16" without a tax stamp for a "Short Barreled Rifle" which you will not get in California.

If you have a RRA lower, do some intense research before you slap on a RRA upper and configure an illegal AW!

Why would a RRA upper possibly make an illegal AW that another brand will not, besides having a barrel length less than 16" I think someone else is also in need of some intense research.
