Is this psa chf barrel one that was sold in a group buy on here recently? I purchased one and wondering how well they function? How many rounds do you have through the barrel ?

Keep firing and adjusting the gas block up one setting at a time until you have the bolt hold open. Then try that setting several more times to make sure it locks open on empty every time and that is the proper gas setting for your AR.
Adjustable gas blocks are great, I use them my self, but they won't fix that primer.

Sorry you had a bad experience, I've never tried Wolf steel or brass so I can't comment on the quality. I will say I only buy American made ammo and have never had any issues whatsoever.
Sometimes it's better to pay a little more to get better quality and do right by your country.

Ive had the same issue with wolf a few times. Sometimes the brass is soft and it is inconsistent in loading. Sometimes hot sometimes weak. Over a chrono ive had an sd of 150 fps. You get what you pay for. Its great for what it is. Bulk brass range ammo. But you arent shooting 1MOA at 600 yards with it.

I assume you are occasionally cleaning the chamber with a chamber brush. A dirty or otherwise rough chamber won't help matters either.

I shoot all kinds of cheap brass M193 and M855 ammo, and I've shot at least 3 cases of wolf gold. Never had a single, not even a single issue.

Randall might be right, but that won't keep me from using wolf gold for practice ammo.

That happens to me when i go from shooting wolf steel case and any brass ammo. First shot sticks.

Does this scenario apply to you?

                    Lest we forget....

Wolf is NOT a manufacturer of ammo. They ARE a distributor of ammo.

                    For example...
All PMC ammo is manufactured in South Korea.
All .223 Wolf Gold ammo is manufactured in Taiwan.
Wolf Steel comes from all over the place, mainly manufacturing plants in Eastern Europe.
                    Etc, etc.

It has nothing to do with Wolf, just in case people make that connection. Wolf is a distribution company out of Fullerton, California. All they do is create international contracts to distribute and import things.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

Indeed it is the same barrel. After four days in 100+ degree heat under dusty conditions, and over 500 rounds of ammo, the barrel performed perfectly. Consistency is great and other than the two cases that stuck (which appears to be bullet over-pressure) I didn't have any problems with the setup.

Very pleased with the barrel and if I were building another rifle I would be buying another one - which, by the way, is still available from what I am told.

Until this experience I too have spent plenty of money on Wolf Gold and had no issues. I suppose it's possible I just had a bad couple of rounds but since I didn't have the foresight to pick up some of the other brass and look for any over-pressure signs I won't really know.

I do have a couple more 20 round boxes of Wolf Gold (likely not from the same batch) so I will look more closely at those when I get back to the range.
